Mohamed Lanim Kandeh was found guilty on four counts of murder and one count of tampering with evidence in the deaths of his parents, 61-year-old Mohamed Alusine Kandeh and 60-year-old Bintu Kandeh.
According to court records, police were called to the family’s Bristol Drive residence in September 2023 after the couple failed to meet their daughter for lunch. Concerned, the daughter went to the home carrying a kitchen knife and a box cutter for protection. She discovered her parents lying in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor and immediately called 911.
Investigators learned that Mohamed Lanim, who also lived with his parents, had a history of paranoia, delusional behavior, and an interest in firearms, according to statements from his sister. Court documents revealed he had previously been charged with aggravated menacing in November 2022 after allegedly pointing a gun at his father’s head. That charge was later reduced to disorderly conduct through a plea agreement.
Kandeh is scheduled to be sentenced on January 20, 2026.
