When winter weather hits, Ohio’s county sheriffs declare snow emergency levels. Here’s what they mean:
- Level 1 — Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow, and may be icy. Drive very cautiously.
- Level 2 — Roadways are hazardous; only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out. Contact your employer to see if you should report.
- Level 3 — All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be driving unless absolutely necessary; those traveling on the roads may subject themselves to arrest.
No snow emergency levels are in effect anywhere in Ohio right now.
Snow emergency levels are declared by each county sheriff and posted here as they are announced.
School closings and delays are on the Closings page.
