UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — West Clermont High School was evacuated Friday morning after a bomb threat was reported at the school, sending students and staff outside while police swept the building for anything suspicious.

District officials emailed parents to say the threat is believed to be part of a swatting incident — a hoax call meant to trigger a large law enforcement response. Union Township Police began a safety sweep of the building while everyone inside waited at a safe distance. School officials said they would update families as information becomes available.

“All West Clermont High School students and staff have been safely evacuated,” the district told families. Officials estimated the sweep would take about an hour and urged parents not to come to the high school until they received an all-clear.

Once officers declare the building safe, students and staff will return to class, according to the district. No injuries were reported, and the investigation into the source of the threat is ongoing.
