COLUMBUS — Drivers who use the Easton area are about to face a month of headaches. The Ohio Department of Transportation announced Thursday that several Interstate 270 ramps near Easton Town Center will close overnight or shrink to a single lane in the coming days.

The longest-running impacts start at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, and last 30 days: the I-270 northbound ramp to Easton Way and Easton Way westbound between I-270 and Stelzer Road will each be reduced to one lane. Easton Way eastbound between Stelzer Road and I-270 will also drop to one lane from 7 a.m. Oct. 10 through 5 p.m. Oct. 17.

The closures are part of ODOT’s $5.1 million I-270 and Easton Way interchange improvements project, which is designed to reduce congestion and improve safety around the massive shopping, dining, residential, and office complex.

Planned upgrades include a new signalized intersection where the I-270 local southbound ramp exit meets Easton Way before Stelzer Road, a widened two-lane southbound exit ramp with three lanes at the new signal, a third westbound lane on Easton Way approaching the ramp, and a longer exit ramp to keep traffic from backing up onto the interstate.

ODOT expects construction on the project to wrap up in the summer of 2027. The agency advised motorists to plan for extra travel time, consider alternate routes, and expect delays through the Easton corridor — especially during peak shopping and commuting hours — for the duration of the lane reductions.
