The Houston Texans are finalizing a trade to acquire wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. from the Arizona Cardinals, reuniting two of Ohio State’s biggest stars in the NFL. Per reporting by The Spun on Oct. 11, the deal came together after Houston’s win over the Tennessee Titans: the Texans receive Harrison and a seventh-round pick in exchange for a second- and sixth-round pick.

Harrison, the fourth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Ohio State, will line up again with former Buckeye quarterback C.J. Stroud — the duo that formed one of college football’s most electric passing combinations in 2022. Buckeye fans will remember their chemistry vividly from that October 2022 shootout with Rutgers, when the Ohio State offense put on a show in Columbus.

The move gives Harrison a fresh start after three uneven seasons in Arizona. Across 33 games with the Cardinals, he totaled 108 receptions for 1,578 yards and 13 touchdowns — more than half of that production coming in his rookie year — as he never fully clicked with the Cardinals’ offense the way he had in college.

For Ohio State fans, the reunion is the story. Stroud has established himself as one of the league’s top young quarterbacks, and pairing him again with his former go-to receiver gives the Texans’ offense a familiar — and potentially explosive — dimension heading into the heart of the season.
