No. 5 Ohio State faces its first real road test of the season today when the Buckeyes visit Iowa at Kinnick Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+ in a Big Ten matchup that pits the Buckeyes against a Hawkeyes team coming off a win over Michigan.

The Buckeyes will be without starting right tackle Phillip Daniels, listed as out on Friday’s availability report. Daniels has not played since being injured late in the Week 2 loss at Texas. Gabe VanSickle will start at right guard while Austin Siereveld slides over from guard to right tackle. Coach Ryan Day called VanSickle a bright spot who keeps improving with every rep, and said the staff would base the final arrangement on Daniels’ progress this week.

True freshman starting nickel Jay Timmons is listed as questionable, while freshman linebacker Braxton Rembert has also been ruled out, though his absence is not expected to change much defensively.

Ohio State has not played at Iowa since 2017, when the Hawkeyes stunned the Buckeyes in a blowout. A win today would strengthen Ohio State’s position in the Big Ten race before the heart of the conference schedule.
