BUTLER COUNTY — A new job shuttle linking workers to employers along the Interstate 75 corridor begins service Tuesday, giving Butler County residents a first-of-its-kind public transit connection between Cincinnati and Dayton.

The new WorkLink route, a partnership between the cities of Middletown and Monroe, Atrium Medical Center and the Butler County Regional Transit Authority, will transport riders to jobs between northern Cincinnati and south Dayton, including stops in Middletown and Monroe. The route is the first public transit connection linking the Greater Dayton RTA, BCRTA and Metro, the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, officials said.

The route runs six days a week at $2 per ride and covers all three work shifts. Stops include the Greater Dayton RTA hub on Lyons Road in Miami Township and the Metro/SORTA Park & Ride at the Meijer store on Tylersville Road in West Chester Township. Two Monroe stops sit in Park North — one next to the new Amazon facility and one across the street from the Home Depot — with additional stops at PAC Worldwide and Atrium Medical Center.

“BCRTA is excited to help our communities support workers and business by connecting Butler, Hamilton, Montgomery and Warren counties with public transit along the I-75 growth corridor,” said Matthew Dutkevicz, BCRTA executive director. “We’re proud of this partnership and look forward to expanding opportunities like this to create seamless transportation options for workers in our region.”

Workers can also transfer to other routes on the Metro and Greater Dayton RTA systems, as well as the CATS system in Greene County.
