The multi-year partnership brings together two major Ohio brands and marks a new chapter for the defending MLS champions. Crew ownership described the deal as a reflection of both local roots and shared community engagement. Financial terms were not disclosed, but sources close to the negotiations said the agreement ranks among the most significant sponsorship deals in Major League Soccer.
Tim Bezbatchenko, Crew president and general manager, said the partnership extends beyond naming rights. “This collaboration aligns our organization with a company that’s been part of central Ohio for decades,” he said. “It’s a partnership built on innovation, sustainability, and pride in our community.”
ScottsMiracle-Gro, known globally for lawn care and gardening products, has been a longstanding supporter of sports and environmental initiatives. The company previously sponsored various youth soccer programs and works with several major sporting venues to promote natural turf management and sustainability practices. CEO Jim Hagedorn said the Crew partnership strengthens its local identity. “As a brand that grew from Ohio soil, we’re proud to see our name on the home of the Crew—a team that represents hard work and passion,” Hagedorn said.
Lower.com Field, which opened in 2021 in the Arena District, has quickly become one of MLS’s premier soccer-specific stadiums. The renaming is scheduled to take effect before the start of the 2026 MLS season, which coincides with the United States hosting matches in the FIFA World Cup. Crew officials said updated signage, branding, and sustainability features are expected to be unveiled ahead of kickoff next spring.
The Crew’s stadium has been widely credited with sparking continued growth in downtown Columbus and symbolizing the club’s successful fan-driven revival after its near-relocation in 2018. With the new partnership, the venue’s next era will carry an even stronger Ohio identity—now rooted in both soccer and soil.
