Judkins, a second-round draft pick who quickly became a fan favorite, suffered a dislocated ankle and a broken leg in the third quarter after being tackled awkwardly near midfield. Players from both teams surrounded the cart as the 21-year-old was taken off with his right leg in an air cast.
“This is a devastating blow, not just for Quinshon but for our entire team,” Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said after the game. “He’s worked so hard and brought great energy week in and week out.”
Before the injury, Judkins led all NFL rookies in rushing yards and touchdowns, emerging as one of the few bright spots in an otherwise disappointing 3–12 season for Cleveland. He finished Sunday’s game with 67 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Buffalo sealed the victory on a late 42-yard field goal from Tyler Bass, improving to 9–6 and keeping their playoff hopes alive. Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson threw for 214 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted twice.
Stefanski said Judkins will undergo surgery Monday. The team has not yet announced who will take over lead duties in the backfield for the final two games.
