CIRCLEVILLE — Marshalls will open a new store at Circleville Plaza on Thursday, Oct. 29, giving Pickaway County shoppers a new off-price option for clothing, home goods and more, and adding about 60 full- and part-time jobs to the local economy.

The store, at 190 Summit Avenue in Circleville, covers approximately 22,700 square feet. Grand opening hours on Oct. 29 will run from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and regular hours after opening day will be 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily.

Inside, the company says shoppers will find brand-name and designer merchandise at discounted prices across apparel, shoes, beauty products, accessories, home decor, pet supplies and children’s items. The Circleville location will use a single-queue checkout system designed to move customers through faster, with new inventory arriving daily.

The opening comes with a local donation as well. To mark the new store, Marshalls is giving $10,000 to the Emergency Clearinghouse Association of Pickaway County Inc., a local charitable organization serving county residents in need.

Marshalls is part of the TJX Companies family of off-price retailers, alongside T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, Sierra and HomeSense. The chain operates more than 1,200 stores nationwide, and TJX has described long-term plans to keep growing its store base in the United States and abroad.

Circleville is part of a late-October wave of Marshalls openings across six states. Other stores opening the same day, Oct. 29, include locations in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Concord, New Hampshire and Nacogdoches, Texas, following earlier October openings in Texas, New York and Minnesota.

For Circleville Plaza, a new national retailer filling a large storefront is a meaningful addition heading into the holiday shopping season, bringing both entry-level and retail jobs and a new reason for shoppers from across Pickaway County to stay in town rather than drive to larger retail centers in the Columbus area.

Shoppers planning to attend the grand opening should expect a busy first day, with the extended 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. hours on Oct. 29 giving early birds and after-work customers alike a chance to see the new store. Hiring for the approximately 60 positions is tied to the opening, with the store set to be fully operating in time for November and December holiday traffic.
