COLUMBUS — Realists Training Technologies has opened a U.S. operation based in Columbus, announcing Oct. 13 that its subsidiary, Realists USA, will now sell and support its RealSpine surgical training systems from Ohio.
The company also launched a dedicated American website, realistsusa.com, built for U.S. spine programs and the device teams that train surgeons, ahead of the North American Spine Society’s 41st annual meeting in San Antonio, Oct. 14–17, where Realists plans to meet customers.
RealSpine is a training platform used by spine programs to practice procedures on realistic models. Programs acquire the platform once and then add cartridges, modules and pathology models as their training needs grow. The 2026 portfolio is built on one platform with three product families, including deformity models configured from preoperative imaging.
Company leaders said serving American customers from Germany was not enough, and that a U.S. entity gives programs a domestic seller, a local support contact and materials written for how American buyers evaluate training systems.
Realists was founded in 2015 as a university research group in Leipzig, Germany, and says its systems are now used in more than 60 countries, with partners that include major medical device makers. In the United States, it lists relationships with institutions including Weill Cornell and the Texas Back Institute.
The Columbus base adds another medical-technology name to central Ohio’s health care economy, with the company positioning the city as its home for American sales and support.
