BEREA — University Hospitals is opening a new sports medicine and orthopedic clinic on the Cleveland Browns’ CrossCountry Mortgage Campus in Berea, the Cleveland-based health system announced Oct. 13.

The new location, part of the UH Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute, will care for Browns players as well as community patients, including youth, collegiate and recreational athletes from across Northeast Ohio.

The clinic offers sports medicine and orthopedic care with MRI and X-ray imaging on site, so many injuries can be evaluated and diagnosed in one visit. Specialists from UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland will also see children, teens and young adults at the Berea location.

Because the facility sits near the Browns’ practice fields and training complex, team players can receive care on campus, while community patients gain access to the same sports medicine physicians and specialists who treat the team.

The Berea opening expands University Hospitals’ network of orthopedic injury clinics across Northeast Ohio. The system already operates a location in Rocky River and plans to open another clinic in Westlake.

For local athletes and families, the new site adds another option for injury evaluation and treatment in the southwestern Cleveland suburbs, backed by one of the region’s largest health systems.
