COLUMBUS — The No. 16 University of Findlay Oilers shook off a frustrating first half and exploded for 28 fourth-quarter points Saturday, beating Ohio Dominican 41-3 at Panther Stadium in Columbus.
Senior quarterback Chase Harrison connected with senior Nash Biglin for a 25-yard touchdown pass on the Oilers’ first possession, and kicker Zachary Barzd added field goals from 28 and 39 yards as Findlay took a 13-3 halftime lead. The Oilers turned the ball over three times before the break — a lost fumble and interceptions on back-to-back drives — then erupted after halftime for their highest-scoring fourth quarter since 2014.
The Findlay defense held Ohio Dominican scoreless in the second half, the third time this season the Oilers have blanked an opponent after halftime. The Panthers’ only points came on a 37-yard field goal on the game’s opening drive, and they never reached the end zone for the second time in the last four meetings between the teams.
Findlay improved to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Ohio Dominican fell to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in league play. It was the Oilers’ fourth consecutive victory in the series.
