TOLEDO — The YourBIGPlans.com 500 Sprint Car Tour returns to Toledo Speedway on Saturday, Oct. 3, for the rescheduled Monroe Asphalt 40, a penultimate race that could decide the 2026 championship.
Originally set for June 14 and postponed, the 40-lap event now serves as the second-to-last race of the season. Kody Swanson of Kingsburg, California, the reigning champion of the 78th Annual Unified Group Services Little 500 presented by Ed Martin Automotive Group, carries the points lead into Toledo. Cincinnati’s Jackson Macenko sits second, 65 points behind, with two races left to close the gap.
The driver arriving with the most momentum is Bobby Santos III of Franklin, Massachusetts. Santos captured the 11th Annual Tony Elliott Classic presented by CB Fabricating at Anderson Speedway this past Saturday, adding another tour victory to his 2026 campaign.
Santos also won the Monroe Asphalt 40 the last time the tour raced at Toledo in 2025, making him the defending event champion and a threat to play spoiler in the title fight when the green flag falls Saturday night.
With only two races remaining, every position on track matters. Macenko needs a strong finish to keep the championship battle alive into the season finale, while Swanson can take a major step toward defending his crown with another consistent run at Toledo.
