FINDLAY — No. 11 Northwood made one of the biggest statements of the Division II football season Saturday, handing No. 8 Findlay its first loss in a convincing 34-11 rout at Donnell Stadium. Both teams arrived undefeated; only Northwood left that way.

Quarterback Ethan Hamby was nearly flawless, completing 28 of 31 passes for 273 yards and three touchdowns. The Timberwolves jumped out quickly and never let Findlay back in it, stretching the lead to 34-11 by the fourth quarter after a 71-yard, 12-play touchdown drive. Brandon Martin led the ground game with 57 yards, while Marlon Haugabook caught five passes for 54 yards. Findlay quarterback Chase Harrison managed 147 yards and a touchdown through the air, but the Oilers were held to 17 rushing yards and never mounted a sustained threat.

The victory moves Northwood to 4-0 and into the driver’s seat in the G-MAC title race, while Findlay drops to 3-1. The Timberwolves entered the weekend ranked just behind the Oilers in the FloCollege Top 25, a pecking order that will almost certainly flip this week.
