CLEVELAND — October baseball in Cleveland brings notoriously fickle weather, but the early forecast for the Guardians’ playoff opener looks promising.
As of Tuesday, the National Weather Service is calling for partly sunny skies and a high of 67 degrees in Cleveland on Saturday, Oct. 3, when the Guardians host Game 1 of the American League Division Series at Progressive Field. There is a chance of showers, but not until early Sunday morning.

Game 2, set for Monday, Oct. 5 in Cleveland, is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 63 degrees, according to the early NWS outlook — pleasant conditions for October baseball along Lake Erie.
Fans heading downtown for the weekend should still check back closer to first pitch, since fall weather in Northeast Ohio can change in a hurry. But for now, the forecast is cooperating for Cleveland’s first home playoff game of the postseason, and tickets for the ALDS games at Progressive Field are on sale now.
