Nevada – The Bucyrus and Marion Posts of the Ohio State Highway Patrol were
dispatched at 6:03 AM this morning to a fatal crash. The crash occurred on U.S. Route 30
near State Route 231 in Antrim Township.
The preliminary investigation shows Eric L. Shackelford, 45, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, was
operating a GMC Sierra, eastbound on U.S. Route 30 when his vehicle traveled off the
right side of the roadway. After traveling off the roadway, the vehicle struck a ditch, fence
and overturned.
Shackelford was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected.
Shackelford was pronounced deceased on scene by the Wyandot County coroner.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Wyandot County Sheriff’s
Office, Wyandot East Fire and Rescue, Wyandot County Coroner’s Office, and Ed’s
Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
