Six Ohio employers told the state in September they plan layoffs or closures affecting more than 450 workers, according to Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filings released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
The notices span several industries and regions. PJ Trailer, a trailer and truck bed company in Mount Orab, listed 116 workers. Ardor Delivery Services, an Amazon delivery partner in Centerville, listed 179 workers. Marc Glassman Inc., known as the discount drugstore Marc’s, will close its Parma location by November 2026 and lay off 55 employees. Perstorp Polyols, a chemical manufacturer in Toledo, listed 50 workers; Powers and Sons, an auto parts maker in Montpelier, listed 53; and the Michigan Sugar Company in Toledo listed 7.
WARN notices generally require employers with 100 or more full-time workers to give at least 60 days’ notice before layoffs lasting more than six months that affect at least 50 full-time employees, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
The filings arrive as Ohio’s job market absorbs a wave of restructuring across manufacturing, logistics and retail. State officials track the notices to connect affected workers with unemployment benefits and retraining services.
