ZANESVILLE — Drivers in Muskingum County should plan for a run of short bridge closures in Zanesville this week, plus a longer Interstate 70 ramp closure later this month, according to work announced by the Ohio Department of Transportation for the area.
The Hamline Avenue Bridge over Interstate 70 is scheduled to close on the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 13 for a routine inspection. Crews expect the bridge to reopen sometime that afternoon once the inspection is complete.
More inspection work follows the next day. Both the Y Bridge and the Sixth Street Bridge are scheduled to close on the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 14 for routine inspections, and both are expected to reopen in the afternoon.
Drivers who use the ramp from Mount Perry Road to Interstate 70 face a longer disruption the following week. That ramp is scheduled to close daily from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from Oct. 19 through Oct. 23 while crews complete slip repair work.
None of the closures is expected to last beyond the times listed, but motorists crossing the Muskingum River in Zanesville on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings will need alternate routes. NewsForce247 will update this story if the inspection or repair schedule changes.
