CLEVELAND, Ohio — International soccer is returning to Cleveland this summer, as Brazil and Egypt are set to face off June 6 at Huntington Bank Field at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
The match, announced Thursday, is part of the “Road to 26” series — a global set of friendlies featuring top national teams preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across North America.
Organizers said tickets for the Cleveland match will go on sale Feb. 26 through the venue’s official ticketing channels. Event officials expect strong demand, given the popularity of both teams’ fan bases and the presence of Brazilian and Egyptian communities throughout the Midwest.
The game will mark the first time Brazil has played in Cleveland since 2013, when the five-time World Cup champions defeated the United States in a friendly at the same venue. For Egypt, it will be the team’s first-ever appearance in the city, offering Northeast Ohio fans a rare glimpse of African soccer’s top talent.
City leaders and tourism officials hailed the event as another milestone for Cleveland’s growing profile as a sports destination, which has recently hosted several major soccer matches and tournaments.
The “Road to 26” series will feature stops in several U.S. cities throughout 2025 and 2026, as teams participate in tune-up matches ahead of the global tournament.
