Officers located the vehicle following reports of suspicious activity in a residential neighborhood, according to the Monroe Police Department. After stopping the car, investigators discovered property believed to have been taken during multiple vehicle break-ins reported in recent weeks.
Police identified the suspects but did not immediately release their names pending further investigation. Authorities said the two face charges related to possession of stolen property and motor vehicle theft, with additional charges possible as the investigation continues.
Detectives are working with nearby law enforcement agencies to determine whether the suspects are tied to similar incidents reported throughout the region.
The Monroe Police Department urged residents to report suspicious activity and reminded vehicle owners to lock their cars and remove valuables.
