Event Details
The 5K walk/run starts at 9:00 a.m. from St. Philip’s Episcopal Church at 129 W. Mound Street, with the route looping back to the same location in the heart of Circleville. Organized as Pickaway County’s largest one-day fundraiser against food insecurity, proceeds directly benefit the Emergency Clearinghouse Food Pantry and Community Cupboards of Pickaway County.
Strong Community Turnout
Last year’s event attracted 303 participants from seven states and raised over $8,700 for local food programs, setting high expectations for this morning’s gathering.[1] Jim Rocklin, co-chair of the Turkey Trot Committee, highlighted the event’s role in fostering unity: “The Turkey Trot is such a wonderful Thanksgiving tradition — a way to come together, get moving, and give back.” Local sponsors including The Savings Bank, Circleville Eagles, and others bolstered the effort.
Broader Impact
Participants registered online via RunSignUp for $30 early-bird rates, emphasizing accessibility for all ages before enjoying holiday meals. This tradition underscores Circleville’s commitment to year-round aid for families facing hunger through nutritious food distribution.
