Sheetz has celebrated the grand opening of its new food preparation and distribution center in Findlay, a 500,000-square-foot facility representing roughly a $150 million investment and 750 jobs for Hancock County, JobsOhio announced this week.
The family-owned convenience chain said the facility will prepare food and deliver products to Sheetz stores across Ohio and into Michigan. The company now operates 140 locations in Ohio and continues to grow in Toledo, Columbus and Dayton; Findlay will serve as the launchpad for its push deeper into the Midwest.
JobsOhio, the state’s private economic development corporation, said northwest Ohio’s food and agribusiness industry, logistics advantages and skilled workforce made the location a fit. The project ranks among the largest in JobsOhio’s Food and Agribusiness sector.
The development was a partnership with the Regional Growth Partnership and Findlay-Hancock County Economic Development. Local leaders said the jobs and investment add to a string of recent wins for the region’s economy.
