CHILLICOTHE — State officials joined local leaders this week to celebrate the opening of the new Cavalier Health Center in Chillicothe, a primary care health center serving students, staff, and the surrounding community.
Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik and representatives from the Governor’s Office of Appalachia took part in the celebration, marking another investment in health care access for southern Ohio.
The center was made possible through the Appalachian Children’s Health Initiative of the Appalachian Community Grant Program, in partnership with Adena Health System, one of the region’s largest health care providers.
Mihalik also visited the Warrior Wellness Center in nearby Frankfort during the same trip, highlighting a broader push to expand health and wellness services across Appalachian Ohio.
For Chillicothe families, the new center means primary care closer to home and school — an important gain in a region where traveling for medical appointments has long been a barrier. The celebration underscores the state’s continued use of Appalachian grant dollars to bring health care, jobs, and infrastructure investment to Ohio’s southern counties.
