CINCINNATI — A 47-year-old Mount Washington woman has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of a man at her apartment, Hamilton County prosecutors said.
Trenda Mayhew was arrested Sept. 30 at her apartment in the Mount Washington neighborhood on Cincinnati’s east side. Court records accuse her of killing 67-year-old Michael Campbell “by stabbing him multiple times.”
Campbell was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center just after 4 a.m. and died a short time later, according to prosecutors.
Mayhew is charged with murder and felonious assault. An attorney appeared on her behalf in Hamilton County Municipal Court on Thursday morning and entered pleas of not guilty on both counts. She will be held until Tuesday, Oct. 6, when the court is expected to determine whether she may be released on bond.
Cincinnati police said the investigation into the stabbing is ongoing. No further details about what led up to the fatal encounter have been released.
