OHIO — Ohio’s dry stretch is holding on. The National Weather Service says sunny skies and mild afternoons will carry the state through the start of the new week, with the first real rain chances arriving around Wednesday and Thursday.
Sunday will be sunny across much of Ohio, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Sunday night turns cool, with lows dipping into the upper 40s to low 50s — a sweater-weather night for most of the state.
Monday looks similar, with highs near 70 and mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Tuesday warms slightly, with highs in the low 70s.
The extended dry spell is good news for weekend plans and the Friday night football slate, but it also means drought concerns aren’t going anywhere yet. The NWS says partly sunny skies hold through Wednesday, with the first shower chances showing up Wednesday night and Thursday.
Thursday brings a 40% chance of showers and mostly cloudy skies, with highs in the low to mid 70s and lows climbing to around 60. Friday could see a 50% chance of rain as a wetter pattern settles in.
For now, Ohioans can enjoy the crisp mornings and pleasant afternoons — just keep a jacket handy after sunset and don’t put the umbrella away for good.
