COLUMBUS, Ohio — State Rep. Rodney Creech, a Republican from West Alexandria, has been reinstated to his committee assignments nearly a year after being removed amid misconduct allegations that sparked a 10-month investigation.

House Speaker Matt Huffman confirmed the reinstatement Thursday, saying that while the allegations were “taken seriously,” the inquiry concluded without any formal charges or disciplinary action. Huffman said the decision followed a review of findings presented to House leadership earlier this month.

Creech, who represents Ohio’s 40th District in the southwest region, was stripped of his committee roles last spring after a complaint surfaced concerning alleged inappropriate conduct. Details of the allegations and investigation have not been publicly disclosed.

In a written statement, Huffman said reinstating Creech restores his ability to “serve his constituents effectively and contribute to legislative work without the cloud of unresolved claims.”

Creech expressed appreciation for the decision, adding that he looks forward to “returning to full participation in the legislative process and focusing on the issues that matter to the people of my district.”

The 10-month review was overseen by an internal House panel in coordination with outside legal counsel. A spokesperson for the Ohio House said no evidence was found warranting further disciplinary measures.

Creech’s committee assignments are expected to be finalized in the coming days.
