The new office, located at 36040 Detroit Road in Avon, is the first tangible result of the collaboration announced in late 2024, aimed at expanding access to streamlined and highly coordinated primary and specialty care across the Cleveland metropolitan area.
A Hybrid Approach to Health Care
The Avon office combines One Medical’s digital-first, human-centered model with the clinical expertise and specialty network of the Cleveland Clinic. Key features designed to improve the patient experience include:
* Convenience: Offering same- and next-day appointment availability for in-person visits.
* On-Site Services: The location includes on-site lab services, eliminating the need for patients to travel to an external facility for common tests.
* Virtual Care: One Medical members benefit from 24/7 virtual care access via the mobile app, including on-demand video chats and secure provider messaging.
* Coordinated Care: The partnership is specifically designed to ensure seamless coordination between One Medical’s primary care services and the Cleveland Clinic’s extensive network of specialists, hospitals, and facilities. The health systems have worked to connect their Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to facilitate better communication between providers.
Expansion Plans Underway
The Avon office is the first of several planned locations. The partners have already announced that a second One Medical office is slated to open in Shaker Heights by early January 2026.
The collaboration allows the Cleveland Clinic to complement its existing primary care footprint while leveraging One Medical’s innovative digital health tools and its appeal to Amazon Prime members, who receive a discounted annual membership fee. One Medical owns and operates the offices and employs the staff, with the Cleveland Clinic contributing to startup costs and sitting on a joint operating council.
Officials from both organizations expressed enthusiasm for the launch. “This new location in Avon strengthens the primary care options available to our communities while complementing Cleveland Clinic’s specialty care expertise,” said a representative from the Cleveland Clinic. The partnership aims to provide Northeast Ohio residents with comprehensive health care, including preventive screenings, chronic condition management, and accessible care for immediate concerns.
