The impressive trifecta established a clear moment of gridiron dominance for the Buckeye State.
#1 Buckeyes Throttle Wisconsin, Sayin Soars
The top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes continued their undefeated season with a resounding 34-0 shutout victory over the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison. Quarterback Julian Sayin had a career day, going 36-of-42 for 393 yards and throwing four touchdown passes, strengthening his case as an early Heisman Trophy frontrunner.
The Buckeyes’ dominant performance, which included two touchdown receptions by star wide receiver Carnell Tate, ensured they will remain the No. 1 team in the AP Top 25 poll. The defense was equally stellar, recording its second shutout of the season and holding the Badgers to under 100 rushing yards.
“He’s the truth,” Tate said of Sayin after the game. “He’s the Heisman winner, ain’t no questions, ifs ands or doubts.”
Browns Get-Right Game: Judkins Runs Wild in Blowout
The Cleveland Browns snapped a three-game losing streak with a much-needed, emphatic 31-6 victory over the Miami Dolphins at Huntington Bank Field on Sunday.
Relying heavily on the run game in rainy conditions, rookie running back Quinshon Judkins was the star, scoring three touchdowns. His 46-yard rushing score in the second quarter gave the Browns a lead they would not relinquish.
The victory was powered by the Browns’ defense, which forced four turnovers—including a 34-yard pick-six—and held the Dolphins’ high-powered offense to a season-low point total. The win lifts the Browns’ record to 2-5 on the season.
Bobcats Celebrate Homecoming with Ground Attack
Down in Athens, the Ohio Bobcats football program thrilled a packed house at Peden Stadium, dominating the Northern Illinois Huskies 48-21 in their annual Homecoming game on Saturday.
