The Jacksonville Jaguars held off a late Cincinnati rally to beat the Bengals 22-17 on Sunday at Paycor Stadium, handing Cincinnati its second straight loss after a 2-0 start — and costing the Bengals star receiver Ja’Marr Chase to a concussion.

Trevor Lawrence completed 18 of 23 passes for 227 yards and a touchdown to earn his first win over Joe Burrow in four meetings. Burrow threw for 428 yards on 39-of-54 passing, but two interceptions — one returned into scoring position, one in the red zone in the fourth quarter — proved costly. Tee Higgins caught 11 passes for 151 yards.

Chase was knocked out in the second quarter after taking a facemask from cornerback Jarrian Jones followed by a helmet-to-head hit from linebacker Ventrell Miller that drove his head into the turf. He walked off under his own power, was evaluated for a concussion, and was ruled out at halftime. He had three catches for 27 yards.

The Bengals trailed 22-10 after Chris Rodriguez Jr.’s 25-yard touchdown run with 6:35 left. Burrow answered with a rushing touchdown with 3:27 to play, and Cincinnati drove to the Jaguars’ 25 in the final minute — but on fourth-and-10, a pass for Chase Brown came up short.
