The event, described by organizers as “like Build-A-Bear, but better,” puts a creative spin on the Easter tradition. Kids will have the chance to receive their own baskets and fill them with candy, small gifts, and other surprises while moving through eight themed stations that tell the story of Holy Week — from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday.
Along the way, participants will encounter fun crafts, games, and hands-on experiences designed to help families connect with the deeper meaning of Easter. Church staff said the event is open to the public and aims to blend faith, fun, and family time in a welcoming environment.
“The Build-a-Basket event is a wonderful way to help kids experience the joy of Easter while learning about Jesus’ love,” said a Genesis Church organizer. “We want this to be a celebration that brings our community together.”
The event will be held at Genesis Church, 921 Woodrow Ave. in Marion, with activities running Easter Sunday during the 9:00 or 11:00 AM Service. Admission is free, and all materials will be provided.
The Genesis Church will also be holding an event on Good Friday, April 3rd beginning at 6:30 PM with a special screening of “The Last Supper.”
