Ohio will be well represented at the upcoming 61st Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, with several Buckeye State radio stations and on-air personalities earning nominations among the nation’s top country broadcasters.
Leading the Ohio pack is Cincinnati’s WUBE-FM (B-105), which landed two major nominations: one for Large Market On-Air Personality of the Year with the Jesse & Anna Show, and another for Large Market Radio Station of the Year. The long-running Cincinnati powerhouse shares the large-market spotlight with Riverside’s KFRG-FM, Indianapolis’s WLHK-FM, Milwaukee’s WMIL-FM, and WSIX-FM in Nashville.
Dayton’s WHKO-FM (K99.1FM) and Akron’s WQMX-FM (94.9 WQMX) also earned recognition, both scoring nominations in the Medium Market Radio Station of the Year category. The pair will compete against stations from Bakersfield, Rochester, and Memphis, highlighting Ohio’s consistent presence in country radio’s most competitive tier.
Ohio’s showing this year places the state among the top regions for ACM Radio Awards representation, continuing a strong tradition of local stations connecting country fans from Dayton to Cincinnati — and beyond.
Winners of the ACM Radio Awards will be revealed during the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville, taking place March 18–20. The honors will precede the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards, set for May 17 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The full list of national and local radio finalists includes markets from across the U.S., with standout nominations for KFRG-FM in Riverside, California — which leads all stations with three nods — and double nominations for KILT-FM in Houston, KSCS-FM in Dallas, WBEE-FM in Rochester, WCKK-FM in Walnut Grove, Mississippi, and Cincinnati’s own WUBE-FM.
The ACM will announce the main award show nominees, hosts, and performers in the coming weeks.
