COLUMBUS, Ohio — Newly released court documents Saturday morning reveal that Michael David McKee has been arrested in connection with the murders of Monique and Spencer Tepe, whose bodies were discovered in their North Fourth Street home late last month.

According to the documents, the Columbus Police Homicide Unit launched an investigation after officers conducted a welfare check on Dec. 30, responding to concerns when Spencer Tepe failed to show up for work. Inside the home, officers found both Monique and Spencer deceased. Two minor children were located unharmed. Columbus medics pronounced the victims dead at 10:11 a.m.

Detectives identified a suspect vehicle through neighborhood surveillance footage, which led investigators to Rockford, Illinois, where the vehicle was located. Evidence collected from that scene linked McKee to the vehicle and reportedly placed him in possession of it after the homicides.

Family members confirmed to media outlets that McKee is the ex-husband of Monique Tepe. Court filings do not yet indicate a motive for the killings, and Columbus police have not released additional details regarding McKee’s arrest or extradition proceedings.
